Halloween Light Show 2011 - This Is Halloween

fancy a gaff like this one?

Up above us is a milky way...beautiful Timelapse by Randy Halverson

Plains Milky Way from Randy Halverson on Vimeo.

BY RANDY HALVERSON

During the month of May, I shot Milky Way timelapse in central South Dakota, when I had the time, and the weather cooperated. The biggest challenge was cloudy nights and the wind. There were very few nights, when I could shoot, that were perfectly clear, and often the wind was blowing 25mph +. That made it hard to get the shots I wanted. I kept most of the shots low to the ground, so the wind wouldn't catch the setup and cause camera shake, or blow it over. I used a Stage Zero Dolly on the dolly shots and a "Milapse" mount on the panning ones.

This was all shot at night. If you see stars and it looks like daylight, it is actually moon light. 20+ second exposures make it look like daylight.

Canon 60D and T2i
Tokina 11-16
Sigma 20mm F1.8
Tamron 17-50

Dynamic Perception Stage Zero Dolly dynamicperception.com

Shot in RAW format, the Milky Way shots were 30 seconds exposure F2.8 or F1.8 with 2 second interval between shots, for 3-4 hours run time. ISO 1600

Ten seconds of the video is about 2 hours 20 minutes in real time.

Dublin was flooded 24/10/11

Rain was lashing in Dublin yesterday for more than 36 hours and as a results a massive flooding in many parts of Dublin.Ireland declared it as national emergency. I was out in the rain yesterday and spent about 2 hours on the bus for a normally 15 minutes travel time. Many properties were destroyed as the aftermath of Dublin worst flood in long time. Here's a snap of not so bad flooding but you can see a pool of water forming at the basement of Brown Thomas in Grafton St..

creating beautiful things!

Another project.

Working for Charity!

Bantay Bata (Safe guarding the Filipino children) charity caravan is in Dublin and the organisation is holding a charity talks and fundraising dinner event. I am very honoured to be chosen as a designer for this special event which will be held at Makati Avenue on October 13th that is Thursday at 7:00pm. I opted not put lavishness and to elaborate my designs as the scale of the amount of money can go to the actual charity instead.

I have 3 tables booked and I am looking for charity lovers out there to join the free dinner and little amount for kind donations after the dinner and presentation!
