Moscow Gay Pride

Instead of the Gay Pride prohibited by the authorities, place Sunday May 27, 2007 in Moscow had today, a gathering aiming at giving to the mayor of the city, a letter signed by more than forty deputies of the European Parliament who call the authorization of a Gay pride in the Russian capital. Let us recall that the mayor Iouri Loujkov had qualified this kind of procession of “satanic act”…

This demonstration unfortunately showed acts of violence homophobe made by theorthodoxe ones and militants of bunches of extreme-right-hand side, against a hundred homosexual arrival to express in front of the town hall. According to journalists' present on the spot, the anti-riot police officers were long in intervening for finally stopping the attackers… but also the victims! As shows it below it video, the British militant Peter Tatchell, a veteran of the fight for the rights of homosexual, was struck violently with the face by an opponent with the gathering, before being embarked at once by the Russian police force. The latter also stopped the leader of the Russian homosexual community, Nikolaï Alexeïev, as well as European deputies.
